Schools, Students and Teachers
SCHOOLS and COLLEGES
We deliver tours and workshops tailoured to the specific learning needs of groups from Nurseries, Primary and Secondary Schools and Colleges. These tours encourage imagination and creativity whilst exploring the artwork in our current exhibition.
Groups who have pre-booked will receive a tour exploring certain aspects of the exhibition, including links to cross-curricular learning where possible.
Dates and times for these visits can be discussed when booking. These activities are free of charge, unless otherwise stated.
Grundy Art Gallery has formed a networking opportunity for Primary School Teachers from Blackpool and the Fylde Coast. The forum meetings take place every two months at the gallery.
Teachers can openly discuss any challenges or highlights of the art curriculum. Grundy’s Education Officer can inform the teachers of any exciting opportunities coming up, offer support and advice, introduce new artists to work with and study in class. Teachers can also bring along examples of ‘good’ school art and ask for ideas on their future projects.
If you would like to join the forum please contact the gallery.
Grundy provides regular lectures at Blackpool and Fylde College on the Higher Education Professional Practice module which looks to progress understanding of the cultural sector and the students role within it.
Grundy also offers free tours of the current exhibitions.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals, with an interest in contemporary art, to assist in the delivery of our ambitious programme of exhibitions and events. We couldn’t achieve as much as we do without the hard work and enthusiasm from our team of Grundy volunteers.
Alongside the Grundy staff you will play an active role in the programme of exhibitions, related events and talks. This is an opportunity to find out more about the reality of contemporary art production and presentation, working in an art organisation and engaging people with art.
If you are interested in becoming one of our volunteers please email your expression of interest with a covering letter and recent curriculum vitae attached to email@example.com
We will invite to interview, applicants who have demonstrated:
•A developing knowledge of contemporary visual arts practice
•An interest in Grundy’s highly ambitious programme
•Good organisational, practical, literacy and numeracy skills
•A willingness to participate in wide range of administrative and practical tasks
Interviews are an informal one to one conversation with a member of the team. If successful you will be invited to join the team of Grundy volunteers.
Throughout your time with us there will be opportunities to discuss your own professional development and gain specific experience in the area of your choice.
Unfortunately, volunteering opportunities are not open to those under 18.
